goal outcomes
So for PE class I was able to complete two of my four goals. I didn't get to 45 sit-ups, though I was close with 40. I'm still pretty proud of that number. Same thing with my run time. The goal was 1:20, and my best time was 1:25. I should've sprinted the last 100m or so, but oh well. Still a decent time. The two goals that I passed were actually the two that I thought I would fail. I got exactly the time I set out for, 1:45. I had never done a plank before this class, so I'm very happy with that time. Finally, I not only reached my goal of 40 push-ups, but surpassed it by 4. It was surprising that I did that, but I'm stoked that it happened. I doubt I'll ever be able to get that many in a minute again. I did some training for the goals, but not a lot. I'm not disappointed that I failed to of the goals, because I'm still happy with the numbers. Overall, I proud of what I accomplished with our fitness tests.

MMA final thoughts
The three classes we had with Goldie were amazing. I learned
so much in them, from striking to blocking, and even some wrestling. I’ve never
participated in this type of class before, and Goldie is a great instructor, so
learning was easy. My favourite part was learning how to flip people over my
back. Even being flipped was a good time. The ground work skills were
complicated at first, but after one or two drills, it became easier to do. I
hope I never have to use these skills in real life, but it’s really good to
know some basics just in case. I hope we get to attend at least one more class
at Columbia Martial Arts, but if we don’t get to, then the three we has were
great.
week 8
The only notable activity I did this week was a bike ride
from my house (near power) to high gate shopping centre, which is close to Edmonds
skytrain station. The ride was uphill for a long way, so my legs were
definitely burning. It was a really fun bike ride though; something I would do
again. The gym I go to is in high gate, so when I got there it was workout
time. 45min later, I rode home. Going downhill was a lot more fun than uphill,
though I’m proud of myself that I made it there in the first place. Hopefully
this leads to more bike rides, as it’s been something that I’ve enjoyed a lot.

My first day of MMA
This has to be one of my favourite class of the year. Learning some basic self defense was so much fun. Its thrilling that we get to go 2 more times. It was a lot harder to block than I thought, so I hope to get a bit better before the 3 classes there are over. Learning the 3 punches and 2 kicks was awesome. It'll be great to learn more next week.
my personal report card
I love most sports, and I naturally want to compete and do well in whichever sport we play. I don't like having bad days, so I try hard each and every class. No matter what. The days on which we do our fitness tests can be a struggle, but I really like beating my previous scores and times, so I make sure to push myself on those days. When we're in class and playing a sport or doing one of our tests, I like to cheer on my classmates. Whether they're doing good or not, I still think its good to encourage everyone to keep trying hard. As a person who loves sports, I try and bring a good attitude to PE class. The days when we're inside and not as easy to be happy, but I'm working on it. Many friends are in the class, so that definitely makes it easier to be happy during those inside days. I've pushed myself in class physically, especially in our fitness tests. I never would have thought I could perform 40 push-ups in a minute. That's crazy for me to believe; I just wonder if I can do it again. The things I love the most in the class are the actual sports. That's what I have always loved about PE class. I've been practicing push-ups, sit-ups, and planks at home, and I think that I'm on track with my goals. The planks are the hardest for me, so I totally want to get better at them. Leadership to me is a mix of things. A leader is someone who can show by example, knows when to yell, and knows when to calmly talk to someone. In this class the leaders are D'Alice and Tim (obviously), as well as Ocean. I also think that I have been a good leader in this class. I'd be very proud if I could complete all 4 of my fitness goals at the end of the term. While I haven't posted every week, I have made some posts outside of class. If I do something active on the weekends, I know I should blog about it, but I sometimes forget. I have been working on my goals; I really want to complete them. I felt so good after completing my push-up goal, and now I want the other 3 done to feel that some feeling of accomplishment. I have been reading the other blogs, though I need to start commenting more. If I had to give myself a grade, that grade would be and A. I've worked hard in every aspect of the class. I feel I deserve that grade.
Last Weekend
So last Sunday Chelsea and I went to Century Park in Burnaby and cycled around the 5km trail a couple of times. It had been a long time since I had gone for a bike ride, so my legs were quite sore. 10km isn't exactly a short ride for someone who isn't used to cycling. Balance was also something I had to get used to again; fortunately I didn't fall off at any point. We both loved the park for a bike ride. It was lots of fun and something we both want to do again soon.

1 goal down, 3 to go
Today's class was awesome. We continued our fitness tests while enjoying the blazing sun as well as starting ultimate frisbee. It was so hot out that I just didn't feel like I could do well in the tests, especially with the push-ups. But with the support of Tim and Keenan cheering me on, I was able to pump out 40 of them! Reaching one of my goals this early into the term is a great feeling. Now its time to conquer the other three.
On a side note, I somehow was able to do two pull-ups. How that happened I will never know.

PE Fitness Goal
So this year with my PE class, we participate in fitness tests. These tests include: # of push-ups, # of sit-ups, timed laps, and times planks. I have goals for each of these exercises, and I plan on reaching them at by the end of term. So July 15th. Here are my goals:
- Run time: 1:20
- Plank time: 1:45
- Push-ups: 40
- Sit-ups: 45
These goals will be challenging, but I plan on being working on each exercise at least 3 times a week

My thoughts on Food Matters Part 2
I really want to start eating more raw foods after seeing
Food Matters in class today. That was one of the ideas mentioned by every
single person in the film. Whether I eat raw veggies as a snack or with a full
meal, I don’t really care. Just as long as I start eating better. It will take
time, I definitely know that, but I’m fully willing to do what it takes to live
better. Another thing I plan on doing from now on is taking less medication. I’ve
never been one to take a lot of pills, but it seems to be that less is more in
this case. I’m perfectly fine with that, as I don’t like taking pills or
medicine in the first place. Something about putting all those chemicals in my
body has always bugged me. As for doing something to help my family and
communities well being? Well I can try my best to teach them and show them the
benefits of raw foods and less medicine, but I certainly won’t go around
preaching it. If they want to change, then I’ll help the best way I can. If
they choose not to change their diet and pill intake, then that’s their choice.
Documentaries have never really changed my opinion on something before, though I
can’t ignore the substantial evidence that nutrition can help prevent and cure
disease, and that treatments to fight cancer can give you cancer. Everything I was
taught as a kid seems to be wrong. I’m determined to find more right answers
from now on.
My thoughts on Food Matters: Part 1
As part of today’s PE class, we watched a documentary call
Food Matters, which talked about how food and proper nutrition call be exponentially
better than pills and drugs. One of the key points in the film is how raw foods
keep their nutrients and enzymes, while cooking foods takes those healthy
elements away. Even lightly steaming your veggies for dinner can cause them to
lose damn near all nutritional value. I find this crazy, though this isn’t even
half as bad as the affects of drugs to a person and their health. That’s just
insane. Due to past health problems, I never really liked doctors. After watching
the documentary, I now don’t trust most of them. The fact they keep so much information
from the public is astonishing. It’s just as bad that they lie about the value
of vitamins and nutrients. It seems that in the medical profession nutrients
and vitamins should be taken in low doses, when in reality people can take as
much as they need and want.

PE and Me
While I don't play on any teams, I love to play all sorts of sports. That's one of the reasons I've always loved PE as a class; it gives that chance to try my hand at different sports. I admit I wasn't a fan of making a blog for this class. I'm not the type to express myself in this manner. A way for anybody in the world to see. Once again, I'm lucky to have this class with some of my closest friends, which always makes each day fun. Seeing them and myself get better and better at each sport is amazing. This year I'm hoping that with each new sport, the rules will be laid out in the very beginning so that there won't be any changes to them while we play. It bothered me last year. As for possible field trips with the class, I heard last week that paddle boarding is a possible option. I vote YES to that. It would be so much fun.
